Privacy Policy

This policy explains what WalkiTalki collects, why we use it, and the choices available to parents.

Effective August 14, 2026

1. Who WalkiTalki is for

WalkiTalki is a parent-supervised voice communication service for children. A parent creates and controls the family account. Children use a parent-configured Kid Mode and cannot independently create accounts, add contacts, approve connections, create groups, or change permissions.

2. Information we collect

We collect the information needed to operate the service, including:

  • Parent account details such as name, email address, authentication information, and family name.
  • Child profiles created by a parent, such as a display name, status, approved contacts, group membership, schedules, and device or Kid Mode session state.
  • Voice clips a child chooses to send, together with message metadata such as sender and recipient references, delivery state, listen state, and timestamps.
  • Support details a person submits through our contact or private beta forms.
  • Technical and security information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.

Please use a child’s first name or family-approved nickname and avoid adding information the service does not request.

3. How we use information

We use information to authenticate parents, provide Kid Mode, enforce family and child permissions, deliver voice clips, apply schedules and device controls, show message history, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, and maintain the safety and reliability of WalkiTalki. We do not sell personal information or use children’s voice clips for advertising.

4. Parent control and child privacy

Parents control the children attached to their family account and may manage contacts, permissions, groups, schedules, devices, and Kid Mode sessions. Parents may ask to access, correct, or delete account and child information through our Contact Us form. We may need to verify the requesting parent before completing a request.

If you believe a child’s information was provided without appropriate parent or guardian authority, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

5. Voice clips and storage

Voice clips are stored separately from account and message records. A clip is available to the approved family participants for up to 30 days, then expires from the service. WalkiTalki’s audio storage is configured to remove expired clip files within 31 days of upload. Message delivery and listen records remain with the family account so parents can review activity; they no longer provide access to an expired clip.

A parent may request deletion of the family account or a child profile through our Contact Us form. After we verify the request, we delete or de-identify the account and message information that is no longer needed to protect families, prevent fraud, or meet a legal obligation. Support requests are retained only as long as needed to resolve the request and maintain an appropriate service record.

6. When information is shared

We share information with service providers only when needed to host, secure, deliver, monitor, or support WalkiTalki. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect a person from harm, to investigate misuse, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. Voice clips and child profiles are not public.

7. Security

WalkiTalki uses server-side permission checks and separates voice files from control records. No system can promise absolute security, but we design the service to limit access to approved family contexts and to let parents revoke child permissions and sessions.

8. International use

WalkiTalki and its service providers may process information in countries other than the one where a family lives. Where required, we use appropriate measures for those transfers.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as WalkiTalki develops. We will post the revised date here and provide additional notice when a material change affects private beta or active families.

10. Contact

Questions or requests can be sent through our Contact Us form. Please do not send passwords, voice recordings, or unnecessary information about a child.
